The Steegwirt in Bad Goisern shines as a culinary beacon far beyond the region. And now – after a massive renovation – it shines even more brightly. And the unbelievable fact about the renovation: the restaurant has retained its lovingly upheld tradition despite the use of high-tech.
 
The impressive solitary building has stood on this strategically important site since 1571. Hospitality has been offered precisely at the spot where the River Traun leaves Lake Hallstatt for over 450 years.
 
The Grampelhuber family took on a mammoth project just before the restaurant’s 450th anniversary. The centuries-long tradition was retained respite a general renovation.

The Steegwirt team takes great delight in cooking and experimenting. However, they also need their own domain in the kitchen to ensure that traditional is not lost.
