Michelin Guide, Gault et Millau and a single philosophy: Douce Steiner is Germany’s highest decorated female chef, although her journey to the top was tough and sometimes tearful. The patriarchal system of top-class cuisine did not make it easy for her. But Douce Steiner persevered.
Together with her husband, she has two Michelin stars and has garnered a lot of praise and recognition. And as Douce Steiner is the only female chef amongst many, many men nationwide to achieve this accolade, she is – unofficially – Germany’s best in her field.
